    Description

Antique 1800s Hand Blown Cobalt Blue Apothecary Util. Jar Rolled Lip Open PONTIL with a not so old hand-lettered label put on later in its life.
1850s pontiled gorgeous cobalt glass utility jar measuring 9” tall blown in spin mold with a hand-rolled crude floppy lip probably Continental in origin.
Open pontil push-up base. Crude imperfections in the glass but no damage. There’s a great occlusion shown near the base that’s really just undissolved slag but without any legs!
Love that later but hand-lettered antique lacquered paper label written in Latin, ‘GUMMI ARABIC’, or acacia gum which is an emulsifier used in food and cosmetics.
The harmless contents can stay inside and go to the new owners or I’ll do the disposal before packing.
I bought a set of these with original contents and have a few choice examples remaining. Be high bidder on this mint jar that’s an absolute stunner.
    Most definitely beautiful!!!
    Good luck!
