Description
Vintage fold-out 1937 Conoco road map of western Canada, printed more than 83 years ago.The map opens to 18" x 24" and has great detail on old highway alignments, with cartography by H.M. Gousha.
The coverage area includes Saskatchewan, Manitoba, British Columbia, Alberta, and the adjoining parts of the United States.
There are three inset plans:
Vancouver, Victoria, and vicinity
Glacier National Park (Waterton-Glacier International Peace Park)
Banff National Park, Banff-Lake Louise District, Alberta
The map was distributed to motorists by the Continental Oil Company in 1937 and is dated by the code numbers in the lower margin: K-1 and 9373.
Small red triangles locate Conoco service stations in Washington, Idaho, Montana, North Dakota, and Minnesota.
Condition:
This map is in
excellent condition,
bright and clean, with
no
rips or tears. A previous owner has written "1938" on the cover; there are no other marks or writing. Please see the scans and feel free to ask any questions.
