    1962 CONOCO OIL Gas Station Locator Road Map NORTH + SOUTH DAKOTA Branding Iron
    Handsome fold-out 1962 Conoco road map of North Dakota and South Dakota, printed more than 53 years ago.
    The map opens to 18" x 26½" and has great detail on highway alignments, with cartography by H.M. Gousha. North Dakota is on one side; South Dakota is on the other.
    The cover labels North Dakota as "The Flickertail State" and South Dakota as "The Coyote State."
    The map was distributed by the Continental Oil Company in 1962 and is dated in the legend. The code number in the lower margin is 8-JJ.
    Little triangles locate Conoco service stations. The artwork on the front cover has an attractive pinstripe design, and there's a Conoco branding iron and the slogan "Hottest Brand Going..." on the back cover, along with the code number 4621.
