In Great Condition for its incredible age we are very pleased to be offering a stunning Antique French Porcelain Apothecary Jar used by pharmacists for "Psillium Plantago". It is gorgeous in its vivid colors, this piece of artistry from the Victorian period is a work of hand painted artistry from the 1800's. This sought after piece is a real eye catcher, the overall height is a LARGE 10.5" inches and it is over 3.5" inches in diameter. Please use all of the photos as part of our description. The colors are stunningly beautiful and the bite in the underside of the lid does not show when on display.
The Plantago seed, known commercially as black French, or Spanish psyllium. It is mainly used as a dietary fiber which is not absorbed in the small intestine. Although its main use has been as a laxative, helping reduce the symptoms of both constipation and mild diarrhea. It is one of the few laxatives that does not promote flatulence.
