    Description

Please note that the demo unit that I assembled for the pictures is for sale in another listing. Also note that I have thousands of other GEARS sprockets pulleys and gear motors for sale in my eBay store.
For sale is one matching pair of Boston gear worm gears. THIS USES A DOUBLE LEAD WORM SO THE RATIO IS 20:1 You get the steel worm and one phenolic 40 tooth(CIRCUIT BOARD)worm gear. The small worm does not have a hub or a set screw. The bore diameter is exactly 3/16 of an inch Please look at the pictures and you will see that I use the permanent red number 271 Loctite to set this on a shaft. This creates a bond that is stronger than any setscrew and will never come loose. The larger gear has a bore diameter of .248"-.249" It is designed to be pressed onto a quarter inch shaft. If you use shaft from a hardware store it will probably slide on it loose because cheaper hardware store shaft is usually a little bit smaller then it's rated dimension. If you are using shaft that is exactly .250 then you may want to ream this out with a quarter inch drill bit to allow it to slide on to the shaft.
Once again for clarity this listing is for one phenolic worm gear and one steel worm. All of the shafts and shaft collars and other items are for demonstration purposes only and are not part of the sale.
Please note that the gear in the picture that has a machined slot was done for demonstration purposes only and the gear that you receive is smooth on both sides. This simply shows one method of fixing the gear to a shaft so that it can drive the shaft that it is attached to. Another method is to pinch it on threaded rod. Another method is to use a small amount of epoxy and glue it to a piece of carbon fiber rod or fiberglass.
These were removed from vintage Boston gear packaging and are now stored with desiccant packs to control moisture and to prevent corrosion or mildew. These are very clean and do not have any odor.
If you pay before noon Eastern time I will mail your package the very same day.
The demonstrator that I assembled that is seen in the photographs is for sale in another listing.
