CAIRNS LEATHER FIRE HELMET 1959 MATANZAS CUBA (SUPER RARE )

Description

For sale is a vintage fire helmet from Matanzas Cuba 1959 manufactured Cairns & Brother Leather Fire Helmet U.S.A. . This helmet is part of the collection of a retired member who passed and had a museum in Miami Fla.  He had a very large collection of fireman items amongst other items it was amazing . The helmet is size 6 7/8. It is worn but good condition considering what it has been through.  It has a tooled leather brim. The brim has four mounting holes for a shield. The hook on the back of the brim is present. The Patent # on the brass front holder is 1.889.537. The inside of the helmet still has the paper tag with the size and Made in U.S.A. on it. The tag bears the number 76950.The inside liner and flaps are in fair condition considering its age and travels.   The Cairns Sanitary Cushion Lining tag is also present. The Cairns metal medallion in the helmet is in great condition and the letter G on the medallion indicates the manufacture date of 1959. This helmet remained untouched in the museum, 1959 is when Fidel Castro took power of Cuba.
