About this item
Written by Crutchfield's Tara W.
Liven up outdoor gatherings with Definitive Technology's popular AW6500.
Outdoor sound that's superbly dialed in
Rich, dynamic Definitive Technology sound meets rugged all-weather construction in the AW6500 outdoor speaker. It features some of the same advanced technologies as Definitive's highly acclaimed indoor speakers, but it's ready to stand up to the hardships of outdoor living. Buy a pair to place near the pool or on your deck — their non-resonant PolyStone enclosures are fully sealed and built for direct exposure to the elements. And the included bracket lets you rotate the speaker up to 360° for maximum flexibility.
Crystal-clear highs, distinct mids, and deep bass
Definitive pairs a 1" pure aluminum dome tweeter with a 6-1/2" woofer for accurate reproduction of the voices and instruments in your music. The woofer uses Definitive's BDSS (Balanced Double Surround System) design for accurate response across a wide frequency range. A pressure-coupled, racetrack-shaped radiator reinforces the output of the woofer, for overall bass that's equivalent to that of a 10" woofer. (Pretty cool for an outdoor speaker that's sized to fit under roof eaves.) You'll get deep lows to round out the sound of your favorite tunes.

Did you know?
Your new speakers will probably sound better after several weeks of use than they do right out of the box. That's because the material surrounding the woofers will loosen up, allowing the drivers to move more fully. Definitive Technology estimates a break-in period of 24 to 48 hours of playback before the speakers will deliver optimum sound quality. For more information and helpful tips, check out this article from Definitive's website about conditioning your speakers.
