This original Fin Nor Ahab 8 Spinning Reel has been used but not abused. It is rated as one of the most durable, top quality, work horse spinning reels ever made for the money.
I have been the only owner of this classic and can assure you it has been washed and cleaned after every use, maintained with seasonal lubrication, and had the drag washer replaced as needed, only 1 time. There are minor rubs, nicks, and dings from regular use and minor finish deficits that do not affect its performance.
Mechanically, this reel is a solid 9/10, its deficit is only that it is no longer being manufactured, however, parts and parts reels are available through many eBay sellers and other parts suppliers at reasonable cost.
I own several Fin Nor Ahab Spinning Reels and have never had one fail.
It comes with a full spool of like new 65lbs braid line.
The reel operates as though it were brand new, with easy open and close bail, immediate lockup antireverse, easy adjustable front drag, and perfect line lay for easy acurate casting. This reel has always been stored without tension on the drag washer.
