    Description

    Pre 1959 frontpiece personally collected when the FDNY switched to inserts. Organized in 1890 as Brooklyn FD Engine 28 in a leased building at 945 4th Ave. In 1891 moved to 436 39th Street. In 1898 it became FDNY Engine 28 and a year later changed to Engine 228. The quarters have undergone a few upgrades in the 1990s but is still there
