    Description

Vintage apothecary jar from the late Victorian period, with label Sp. vin. rect" which stands for spiritus vini rectificatus. This item came from the estate of a dentist in Texas who collected vintage medical ephemera. This item has the original label, and someone has used a paper tape to secure the thin layer of glass over the label. The label glass is broken, but the thin layer of glass covering the label seems largely intact. The label cover glass is in damaged used condition. Please review photos to confirm condition. Although not in perfect condition, this item is certainly interesting and a nice remnant from another age of medicine and pharmaceuticals. Bottom of the bottle lists patent date March 6, 1894.  The bottle with stopper stands approximately 12" tall, and the square bottle is approximately 5" on each side.
