The Battery Charger is working.
I used it to charge another battery that worked on my 9000 until the camera died.  I wanted to give a hand at replacing the dead cells with with new cells and that explains the sacrificial lamb in the plastic bag.  I opened the case to see if it was going to be an easy job and to determine what size batteries to buy.  I gave up on the project when the 9000 died.  One of the intact battery packs is completely dead.  The other shows signs of life but after repeated charging it does not charge enough to run the power unit for the camera.  The power unit works perfectly.  If you have the ability to repack the batteries you can have at least two undamaged packs to work with, a charger that works and a power drive that works.  The yellow batteries I believe are the replacement batteries you will need if you want to repack the unit.  There are only enough batteries for one unit but I purchase them on ebay and they will be enclosed in the mailer with the return address of the seller.
Getting back to the battery that shows some life in it.  I had the same issue with another battery pack (not included in this listing) that after repeated charging and discharging finally took a charge long enough to run at least a few rows of film on the 9000 before the camera died.
