These artifacts were from the famous
Hotel zum Turken, on the Obsersalzberg in Berchtesgaden...this hotel is next door to the Bergdorf and the
tunnel
system
underneath the Turken is attached to the Bergdorf. it operated as a hotel in the 1920's and 30's until the chancellor and leader of Germany moved into the Bergdorf. The owners of the hotel were forced to sell to the NSDAP party and it was then used as office spave for the guards and staff. After the war it was returned to the original family. it still operates as a hotel and tourist attraction. These artifacts were mainly from the 1950's-60's and were
discarded,
a few years ago a local there was able to obtain some of this historic
memorabilia.
