Rare Vintage “Mountain Climber” Train Locomotive Tin Friction Toy Made In Japan. Condition is "Used".
I’ve never seen one of these before. A great tin locomotive dubbed the “Mountain Climber”. Overall length is a little over 13”. Missing a few parts, most notably a headlight and one of the wheels. Both sides have a piece (forgive my lack of train terminology but it’s the thing that the engine would slide back and forth that would turn the wheel) that look like it should be attached to the front driving wheel, it is not attached and I do not see how it would attach. Perhaps it isn’t supposed to. A couple of bends to the tin here and there. The friction element appears to not work. An overall nice paint job with very few scratches or rubs that I see.
