From a New England estate. Rare J.G. Leib Petroleum Regulir-Fackel fire brigade lantern was designed to attach via two iron wing nuts to a tri-pod wooden base. Heavy brass/steel cannister with brass fuel spout, screw-on perforated burner collar surrounding spring loaded center suction wick. Oval brass medallion on steel body embossed "J.G.Lieb in Biberach Wurth Eingef.Deutschl.Oesterr.FrankR.Belgien" with "Petroleum Regulir-Fackel Mit Saugdocht" in center. Base measures 5 7/8"W. Height is about 10". Pierced burner collar is about 3 3/4"W. Very unusual find. Dimple in brass shoulder along with minor denting in fuel spout and neck.
