RARE ORIG GERMAN WWII WW2 PHOTO HEER DER SPEISS 1,000 YARD STARE BATTLE HARDENED

Photo looks much better in person, I don't have a scanner, taking photos of the photos, sorry about that.  This is a hauntingly nice photo, very clear, no name on the photo paper but a number stamped up top on the back, doubt if it was a PK photo simply because of the misery and concern on this senior sergeant's face - doubt they would've wanted that published anywhere.  Great photo of "Der Speiss" with another NCO in their tent pitched among some rocks, probably Russia but possibly elsewhere, wherever it is, it looks cold.  These are definitely the eyes of a man who's seen too much and isn't real amused at having his photo taken.  Take note that his shoulder straps are on upside-down, which does make me think this was early in the Russian campaign, but he clearly has the double stripes on his cuffs indicating he's the senior NCO.  You can also see his wedding ring, which most Americans don't realize, Germans wore it on their right hand.  Very nice photo of two battle hardened combat vets.  Guaranteed original photo, no Russian fakes here, I've collected these things for decades.  Thanks!
