For the Nikon D810 DSLR, the
BD810-L L-Plate
from
Really Right Stuff
is an Arca-type compatible plate that facilitates easier, more stable switching between horizontal and vertical shooting orientations when working atop a tripod. The L-shape of the plate also benefits shooting in horizontal orientation with side-mount gimbal heads.
The dedicated design maintains full access to the battery door, features a slot for attaching a strap, and the plate is repositionable to promote easier access to the camera's side ports for shooting tethered. Additionally, the CNC-machined construction is finished with a Type II black anodizing, a 1/4"-20 threaded mounting socket is featured on the base, and laser-engraved center marks are placed on both axes for easy alignment.
This was used solely in a studio and shows absolutely no signs of wear.  Indistinguishable from new.  This is the earlier version without the QD attachment provision.  See my other listings for a similar bracket for the D810 when equiped with the MBD12 battery grip.
