On Jul-03-21 at 04:26:39 PDT, seller added the following information:
The ring at the edge of the rear lip is white metal. The head opening measures 9 inches in length, 7 and 1/2 inches in width.
The badge was a lieutenant (Blue) and the Red helmet designates a captain. Maybe someone got a promotion?
I was told by a guy in England that the I on the Cairns badge is 1971-72. I did not put that in the listing as I am unsure. But he visited the Cairns plant in New Jersey back in 1989 and 1992. He was given a code list by a customer service rep then, which he referred to when dating mine. He told me that there are at least 10 different code lists that reputable collectors have in their possession. If anyone can date this or provide any further information, please contact me, "Thank You."
