Description:
This is a once-in-a-lifetime chance to get the Yanoman's Batman Car, an exceedingly rare and probably the most sought-after of all the tinplate Batmobiles.
Beautiful and colorful Batmobile with a very usual design, made of well detailed litho tinplate, yellow tail fins, red painted tin chassis, friction operated mechanism with siren sound, black rubber tires and large oversized painted vinyl Batman figure with shoulder jointed arms and swivel waist.
It comes with
a very nice
reproduction cardboard box
with beautiful comic style graphics on lid that will greatly enhance the display of this wonderful toy.
Made in
Japan
by Yanoman (Y), 1970.
Dimensions:
6 inches
(
15 cm
) long x
4 inches
(
10.5 cm
) height.
Condition:
All original, complete, still bright with vivid colors and minimal play wear and storage markings here and there, minor rusty spot to Robin's right arm on hood circle and a not noticeable touch-up to the blue area next to his red cape. Not noticeable, professional touch-up to the “BAT” word on right side of car. Siren works perfect and friction only works when you hold the toy on air. It comes with a not original reproduced cardboard box. (Please see pictures that are the best reference to evaluate the finish and other details.)
Note:
This car was first published in the 1970 Yanoman catalog, described as a new item and must have had a short run, judging by the low number of examples that exist.
