    Description

    You are bidding on an
Unusual Vintage Shakespeare/Inglis of Canada Triumph 1958 Model GK Jeweled Fishing Reel
    .
Made by John Inglis Ltd., Toronto, Canada
is stamped on the bottom of the reel foot and
    Inglis, Canada
    stamped on the head plate.
Although the Model GK indicates a start date of 1941 for production of this series of reels, the john Inglis Company did not start producing reels in Canada for Shakespeare until after WW II, an association that continued until the 1960s.
The reel is in, what I would consider to be, very close to excellent used condition.
It has light surface wear with a couple of light scratches but no major blemishes.
The mottled brown spacer is intact without any chips or cracks
The clicker is strong, the line guide moves smoothly and tracks evenly and the doubled knobed handle spins smoothly.
The leather case is worn and missing its front snap but is intact without any rips or tears.
This reel is close to collector quality and would only take a little effort by a knowledgeable person to make it fit for a collection.
