Vintage 1960s Mercedes W111 W112 Wooden Tin Toy Car Scale Body Form. This is a very cool piece of Japanese tin toy history. This was the beginning phase of making a very detailed pressed tin toy. This is a wooden form that the artist would begin with to form the tin body. This body is completely handmade out of wood from scratch. This body has some slight damage but that is expected for something of this age. After the wooden model was completed it would have been transformed into a metal die for a press to form the tin. These early prototype models are very hard to come by especially of such a neat 1960s car.
