Vintage Brass Military Style cigarette Lighter Mermaid smoking memorabilia

I have a wonderful Militay cigarette lighter in wonderful condition.  I believe it to be brass.  It has a mermaid on the front which might indicate who made it but I cannot find it.  The outside slides up and the little cap comes off the wick when you light it with the roller that creates the spark.  It does spark.  No wick or fluid in it now.  I don't know if it ever got used.  It has a small loop on the bottom, I would think to hook onto a key ring or other item to keep it handy for use as needed.  I can just see a soldier sitting in a trench, and smoking to pass the time and others asking for a light from this special mermaid lighter.  The tubular shape may allow it to light a pipe, but I don't smoke so I don't know for sure. A good addition to a cigarette lighter collection or for those that like smoking memorabilia.  An unusual Mermaid item for the nautical collector or Mermaid collection.
