Description
Original owner selling early 1960s vintage Tomiyama Piper Aztec tin friction toy. A sheet metal work of art!! This is a friction model - meaning when you roll its' tires on a hard, flat surface, it builds up stored energy. After lifting it off the surface, place it back down to use that energy - this model uses it to taxi with propellers turning.Everything works, but right propeller turns faster than left. Appears to be complete. Totally original - no repairs, no repainting. Wings come off by movement of a 'flip-latch' on underside at rear of wing. No original box. Dimensions: overall length 10 1/4"; wingspan 13 5/8: height 4". Weight 10 ounces.
Seller has had this toy stored indoors, boxed, under temperature control in dry Arizona for about 50 years. Received new as gift about 1963. No rust. Small dent in EACH side of fuselage just aft of canopy. Clear plastic canopy has minor 'grazing'. Two-tone paint glossy & rubber tires in excellent condition. Paint has A FEW SMALL marks from play - primarily on leading edge of vertical fin and on top of right engine. Examine photos CAREFULLY.
