VTG 1985 CONOCO SAN FRANCISCO AWARD BARNHART CAMPBELL HAISLER million mile drive

Description

This auction is for a vintage Conoco Million Mile Driver/ Accident Free Driving award plate. This plate was given for Conoco truck drivers that had reached 1 million miles without an accident. They were sent for an all expenses paid trip to San Francisco, California on June 21-23 for a ceremony held in their honor where these plates were presented. Inside the box, there are two news clippings honoring 3 men from Missouri who received the award; George Barnhart, Bob Campbell, and Fred Haisler. Their names are listed on the back of the plate along with the rest of those honored for the year of 1985. I believe these awards ended after the 80's. The plate shows a lovely depiction of a San Francisco Trolley, The Golden Gate Bridge and many other California sites with a gold rim. It is in EXCELLENT condition with no chips, cracks or damage to design! The plate itself is 10 1/4" in diameter. The box is a 10 3/4" square. This is a rare find as these were only given to employees with the million miles safe driving record! Don't miss out on this piece of Conoco history!
