This listings is for a genuine and original WWII German Army Sterbebild.
Sterbebild are also known as Funeral Cards or Death Notices.
The vast majority of Germans in World War II were Catholics.
Like many funeral services today, a small card (usually baseball card size) were printed with a photo and brief history of the deceased.
This custom has existed for several centuries and was very prevalent during the Second World War.
These particular card was printed in remembrance of:
Albert Stocker served in the Heer and has a small photo glued to the card in place of one that was printed on it.
He fell on April 17, 1945 in Neubau north of Vienna, Austria at the age of 35.
