    This listings is for a genuine and original WWII German Army Sterbebild.
    Sterbebild are also known as Funeral Cards or Death Notices.
    The vast majority of Germans in World War II were Catholics.
    Like many funeral services today, a small card (usually baseball card size) were printed with a photo and brief history of the deceased.
    This custom has existed for several centuries and was very prevalent during the Second World War.
    These particular card was printed in remembrance of:
    Dr Josef Häusle
    Josef held the rank of Assistenz-Arzt in the medical profession and would have been a qualified surgeon and would have managed a battalion sized field hospital.
    He was born on December 7, 1913 and fell on December 19, 1941 in Russia.
    He was awarded at last the Iron Cross 2nd Class as the ribbon is visible on his 2nd buttonhole.
