This listings is for a genuine and original WWII German Army Sterbebild.
Sterbebild are also known as Funeral Cards or Death Notices.
The vast majority of Germans in World War II were Catholics.
Like many funeral services today, a small card (usually baseball card size) were printed with a photo and brief history of the deceased.
This custom has existed for several centuries and was very prevalent during the Second World War.
These particular card was printed in remembrance of:
Heinrich Miesslinger
Heinrich serves as a Sergeant and also Gun Commander in a Panzer Division.
He was awarded the Iron Cross 2nd Class and other decorations.
He fell on October 24, 1943 on the Eastern Front following 7 years of military service at the age of 29.
